Are you feeling frustrated because you are not making progress toward your dreams and goals? Do you feel that your self growth has come to a stand still? You want to see self improvement in your life , but somehow you seem stuck. Often it is our mindset that prevents us from moving forward to where we really want to go in life.

So how can you tell if your mindset is holding you back from your personal development goals? If you find yourself feeling powerless, hopeless, intimidated, frustrated, and unable to move forward most of the time then it is those negative thoughts and beliefs that are the problem.

In order to move towards your goals and dreams you need to get rid of that negative mindset.

The first thing to do is to identify what those negative thoughts and beliefs that are holding you back.

Take a clean sheet of paper and begin writing down how you feel about yourself, your life, and your goals. You might end up with statements like these: “I am so fed up of struggling.” “I can’t change anything no matter how hard I try.” ” There must be something wrong with me because I can’t do the things that other people find so easy.”

These are the types of thoughts that prevent you from making the changes in your life that you want to see. These negative thoughts and beliefs are killing your potential.

Get another sheet of paper and for each negative thought write a positive statement that totally contradicts the negative one. “I am discovering powerful ways to overcome challenges and move forward.” Others seem to find things easy because they’ve probably been working on this stuff longer than I have.” I will develop confidence and skilled as I learn more” “I have the power to learn, grow, and have a meaningful and fulfilling life.”

Destroy the piece of paper that has all those negative thoughts and beliefs. You no longer want this thoughts to be part of your life.

Now you want to replace that negative mindset with a positive one. Whenever you find yourself thinking a negative thought, replace it with your positive one. Read, and memorize the new empowering thoughts you created. That is the mindset for success that will move you forward toward your goals and dreams.

This is how you can overcome the main barrier in your self growth and personal development. it is not an overnight fix, as you need to retrain your mind over time to develop a positive mindset.
